We're back!

Ok, we haven't been away, just a little lazy on the Blog front.

So what can I show you.....

Flat roof insulation (expertly installed by us)

Rubber roof adequately installed by the 'experts'

The lounge wall is up

The wine rack housing is in (there's room for 144 bottles. I can't wait)

The basement blockwork is complete, making our Utility and Store
(A store big enough for a table tennis table or pool table or just junk)

Soil stacks are in and so is the rainwater feed to the WCs

Externally the brickwork is complete, all first floor windows are in

the profile sheet roof is on the timber clad side and the battens are being istalled ready for the cladding which is due to start on Saturday

As you can see things are coming along nicely. Next jobs on site are to fit the gutters to allow the scaffold to be dropped on the brickwork side. This will allow the ground floor windows to be installed making to house secure.
Then we can get the electrician and heating guys in. After that we're begining to look at plasterboarding the walls. Then we must surely be close to the end.

Can you spot what is wrong with this photo?
look closely and you'll spot it.
That's right. TMW are back.

but only to do the blockwork in the basement.
I'm not sure if working in the dark will make a difference for them.

We're also doing our bit for Tata

with a lovely steel roof.
It should be finished tomorrow, but it's looking pretty good already.

And Ellie seems to have settled nicely into her room.

and 'todays' word is Stairs

Ok, maybe I should call it the end of last weeks word, but stairs it is

Here's the stair from the Kitchen to the Playroom. Look carefully and you'll just see the stair up to the bedrooms too.

And now it's up. The first steps needs looking at.

and the stairs down to the basement.

We have all our (official) stairs and now we're busy installing windows, roof coverings and plumbing.
I'll try and post more tomorrow, but as you know my recent record is poor so I'm not promising a thing.

Todays word is ........

VELFAC

That's right, the windows are here and thery're going in

He's desperate to open it

and she's excited too (can you tell?)

Here's the big landing window being fitted

and it's in, looking out towards are own house.
(I still love this view)

Squint and you'll start to see the finished house.

Squint harder.

Roof, Timber, Scaffolders and bricks

It's been a busy few days. Look below and you'll see.

Final roof day and the final crane. You could see this one for miles.

more panels for the roof and just when you're not looking . . . .

the final panel goes up. RUN!!!!!!!

And it's bye bye crane
(Alex took this one, hence the dreamy soft focus for the crane)

And that's a roof, and the house. It'll get no bigger than this (well maybe a little, but not much)

with the main roof complete it's on with the flat roof

and the bedroom partitions.

Now we have the shell we need to clad it. Here's all the black stained Siberian Larch for the walls and roof

I love it.

An Alex sized door. No it's not a mistake, just the access hatch to the water tank room in the attic

This will be a fantasti bookcase one day. honest.

I really don't like or trust scaffolders. Tell me how do I fit my roof now?

but our bricklayer is doing a really good job. He's onto the final lift on the North elevation.
